Google formalizes Gemini Skills as reusable, stackable instructions

Google is turning Gemini Skills into reusable, combinable instructions: a Skill can be created from a chat, Gemini can auto-apply a saved Skill when it matches a prompt, and multiple Skills can be stacked in one conversation. Starting November 2026, Gems will migrate to Skills, with existing Gems recreated automatically. The feature is currently limited to personal Google Accounts.
