ANYbotics robots can now open doors and authenticate at restricted entrances

Swiss robotics firm ANYbotics partnered with dormakaba and LEGIC Identsystems to let its four-legged ANYmal robots open doors and authenticate at access-controlled entrances. Unlocked doors are handled via radar and dormakaba ED 100/ED 250 operators, while locked doors require a LEGIC digital credential checked by dormakaba's exos system.

• Radar detects the robot's approach and dormakaba ED 100/ED 250 operators open and close the door
• Operators retrofit existing doors, including fire-rated ones, with no dedicated robotic doors needed
• A LEGIC digital credential and exos access system verify the robot's permissions before unlocking
• Existing anti-tailgating measures such as mantraps, cameras and guards remain fully active
