Russia completes second RITM-200S reactor for 106 MW floating nuclear plant PEB-106

The ZiO-Podolsk plant finished the second RITM-200S reactor for the PEB-106 floating nuclear power unit, which will supply a copper mining hub in Russia's Arctic Far East. The first reactor was completed in May; 16 RITM reactors have been built so far, with 12 more in production.

• PEB-106 will be the world's first offshore nuclear plant dedicated entirely to mineral extraction
• The RITM-200S is about 1.5 times more compact than older Soviet designs yet more powerful
