UK blinds enemy spy satellites with ground-based lasers

Britain has used a ground-based laser system to temporarily blind optical sensors on adversary reconnaissance satellites, UPI reports, citing senior defense sources. The capability protected nuclear submarine and special forces operations over the past year; the RAF set up No. III Space Effects Squadron on September 23.
