SFR workers in France strike over proposed takeover

Around 3,500 employees of French carrier SFR went on strike against the company's break-up, with Bouygues, Orange and Free set to acquire its assets for €20.35bn. A redundancy plan could cut 5,600 of 12,500 jobs, over 40% of the workforce.
