EU Commission welcomes design of first IPCEI AI with 19 member states

The European Commission has welcomed the design of the first Important Project of Common European Interest in AI (IPCEI AI), jointly designed by 19 EU member states and coordinated by Germany. The initiative covers the full AI stack, from advanced technologies and compute management to industrial products; 11 countries plan to start pre-notifying projects in September 2026.
