Google expands Gemini in Chrome with cross-tab context and Android Auto Browse

Google is expanding Gemini in Chrome as a built-in assistant that works with the current page, compares information across open tabs and pulls context from Gmail, Calendar, Maps and YouTube. The feature rolled out to India, New Zealand and Canada on desktop and iOS on March 11, 2026, followed by a May 12 Android update adding Auto Browse and agentic capabilities.
