X-energy completes main structure of TX-1 nuclear fuel plant in Tennessee

TRISO-X, a subsidiary of X-energy, has finished vertical construction of its TX-1 fuel fabrication facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The 214,000-square-foot plant is expected to produce about 700,000 TRISO fuel pebbles per year using roughly 5 metric tons of uranium, enough for up to 11 Xe-100 reactors.
