AI reshapes hiring: unemployment among CS grads hits 7.1%

As AI takes over more coding work, unemployment among recent US computer science graduates has reached about 7.1%. Enrollment in computer and information science fell 8.4% by spring 2026, and colleges are retooling curricula around supervising AI tools.
