AWS: almost 90% of Amazon's early AI agent prototypes never shipped

AWS VP of agentic AI Swami Sivasubramanian said at HumanX in Amsterdam that about 90% of AI agent prototypes built by Amazon teams two years ago never reached production. Citing analysts, he noted only 17% of organizations have successfully deployed AI agents and just 7% can measure the return on that investment.
