iOS 27 lets you create custom iPhone wallpapers via Image Playground

iOS 27 adds the ability to generate custom iPhone wallpapers directly from the wallpaper picker using the overhauled Image Playground app. The system also suggests AI-generated wallpaper variants based on your own photos, marked with the Image Playground icon.

• Wallpapers can be created via Settings → Wallpaper → Add New Wallpaper or by long-pressing the Lock Screen
• Image Playground generates images from a description, a style, or an existing photo or person
• Generated wallpapers are automatically sized for the iPhone screen
• AI wallpapers in the Featured section are marked with the Image Playground icon
