Yahoo CEO says micropayments will never be enough for publishers
Yahoo CEO Jim Lanzone said at HumanX in Amsterdam that micropayment deals won't pay publishers enough, and Yahoo is betting on search advertising instead. Its AI answer engine Scout, launched in beta in January on Anthropic and Bing models, will keep links back to publishers. Yahoo claims 700 million monthly users.
