Toyota is finally taking its best-seller electric

Toyota is preparing an electric version of the Corolla, the best-selling car of all time with over 57 million units sold since 1966. The next-gen Corolla debuts in 2027 as a 2028 model with gas, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric powertrains; the EV is expected to offer at least 250 miles of range.

• Hybrid gets a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder with about 134 hp combined, 10–20% more efficient
