China builds world's first 50MW sCO2 plant with 100MW molten salt storage

Construction is underway at the Ruitan demonstration project at Shandong's Bajiao power station, described as the world's first utility-scale facility combining 50MW supercritical CO2 power generation with a 100MW/400MWh molten salt thermal storage system. It is expected to be operational next year.
