AI wipes out whole degrees in China as universities cut 12,200 programs

Chinese universities closed or paused 12,200 undergraduate programs and launched about 10,200 new ones between 2021 and 2025. The Central Academy of Fine Arts dropped illustration, photography and translation, while fashion design degrees are being scrapped in favor of human-machine collaboration.
