BYD teases second-generation Seagull EV design

BYD released design sketches of the new Seagull, a bigger and smarter version of its most affordable EV. Named the Great Seagull, it goes on sale in China by the end of 2026 with a 4205 mm body, a 95 kW motor, and expected second-gen Blade Batteries and roof LiDAR.

• Length grows from 3780 mm to 4205 mm, wheelbase 2650 mm
• Motor output rises from 55 kW (75 hp) to 95 kW (127 hp)
• Current Seagull starts at 69,900 yuan (~$10,000) in China
• On sale by end of 2026, likely overseas as second-gen Dolphin Surf
