NHS Trust IT blunder overwrites 11 years of maternity records

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust overwrote its Medway maternity database on August 18 after reusing a set of instructions without changing a setting, wiping records of women and babies treated between September 2011 and November 2022. Clinical data was recovered, but the audit history of who viewed the records remains lost; the ICO and Nottinghamshire Police were notified.
