Gigabyte patches Control Center flaws that exposed kernel to attackers
Gigabyte admitted that flaws in the GVCIDrv64.sys and gdrv3.sys kernel drivers of its Control Center software let a local attacker escalate privileges to Ring 0 and NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. The fix ships in GCC 26.08.28.01 and GBT_VGA_26.08.24.01 or later.
- Flawed drivers: GVCIDrv64.sys and gdrv3.sys in Gigabyte Control Center
- Attackers could reach Ring 0 and NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM privileges
- Patch included in GCC 26.08.28.01 and GBT_VGA_26.08.24.01 or newer
- Credited to researchers Mohamed Alzhrani and Subhan Sultanov
