Solar Orbiter spots fast magnetic waves in the Sun's polar corona

A team led by Peking University used Solar Orbiter imagery to detect high-frequency magnetic waves in polar coronal holes that NASA's SDO missed. The EUI instrument captures an image every five seconds at 420 km per pixel and logged 2,318 wave events versus 560 for SDO.
