Synology releases ActiveProtect Manager 2.0 with cloud and virtualisation backup

Synology has launched ActiveProtect Manager 2.0, a free update for its DP-Series data protection appliances. It adds protection for Amazon EC2, Azure VM, Proxmox VE, Nutanix AHV and Google Workspace, cross-platform recovery and volume-level storage encryption. APM 2.1 will add AI/ML anomaly detection and malware scanning before restore.

• APM 2.0 is a free update for all Synology DP-Series appliances
• Adds support for Amazon EC2, Azure VM, Proxmox VE, Nutanix AHV and Google Workspace
• Backups in Amazon S3 or Azure Blob can restore directly to EC2 or Azure VM
• APM 2.1 will bring AI anomaly detection and malware scanning
