AWS confirms permanent customer data loss in UAE and Bahrain regions

AWS confirmed that some customer data in me-central-1 (UAE) and me-south-1 (Bahrain) is permanently lost after a series of attacks in 2026. The company said the damage exceeded multi-AZ architecture capabilities, and region recovery will take months.

• Customers received $150 million in credits and March fees were waived
