Cockroach Labs bets on database pooling to cut cost of AI-era workloads

Cockroach Labs launched Cockroach Continuum, a database fleet management platform that pools compute and storage across isolated CockroachDB instances. It uses Cockroach Plenum for separate scaling of compute and storage and Cockroach Aegis for AI-driven diagnostics. Pricing is consumption-based, not peak capacity.
