Cloudflare: largest DDoS attacks fell 69% as total attacks rose 208%

Network-layer DDoS attacks reached 18.2 million in Q3 2026, but attacks above 1 Tbps dropped to 251 from 805 in Q2. Cloudflare tentatively links the decline to law enforcement action against four major IoT botnets in March.

• 251 attacks above 1 Tbps in Q3, down from 805 in Q2
• 96% of attacks lasted under 10 minutes; 98% stayed below 1 Gbps
• UDP floods rose from 14.1% to 31.3% of attacks; DNS floods held 39.3%
• US was the most-attacked country; Indonesia rose to third
