Ukrainian UGV completes first AI-navigated combat supply run of 19 km
Ukraine's Lava Unmanned Systems Regiment reported the first publicly confirmed AI-navigated logistics mission under live combat: a ground robot covered 19 of 20 km without human steering. Apex.AI's navigation needs no continuous radio link, so it cannot be defeated by jamming; an operator took over for only 1.4 km.
- Autonomous completion rate was 93%, with 1.4 km of the 20 km route driven manually
- Two-vehicle setup: a scout builds a lidar map, the main robot follows it by camera
- No continuous datalink means jamming degrades oversight, not navigation
- Apex.Autonomy runs on Apex.OS, certified to automotive functional-safety standards
