Garmin Messenger restores chats with just an SMS code

A Garmin Messenger user restored their full chat history on a second phone by verifying only their phone number via SMS, without a Garmin account password. The behavior raises concerns that recycled numbers could expose past conversations and shared locations; Garmin called it by design but agreed to review.
