Akamai: Online Scams Double and Overtake Phishing

Akamai's SOTI report recorded about 6.4 million online scams in April–June 2026, up from 3.2 million in July–September 2025, marking the first time scams surpassed phishing. Phishing detections rose 61%, while AI cut the average phishing attack lifespan from 48 to 22 days.
