GitHub Universe 2026: Copilot becomes a software delivery system

At GitHub Universe 2026, GitHub repositioned Copilot as a software delivery platform, launching the Copilot app, the Fusion model router, parallel Projects sessions, Automations, code review Max and AI Scans. Enterprise customers now get all Copilot features without a separate subscription, paying only for AI credits. GitHub also reported 7.4 billion commits in September and a multi-region Azure migration.
