iOS 27.2 upgrades Apple Photos with Shared Albums tweaks and SynthID

iOS 27.2 brings four new Shared Albums features to Apple Photos: editable captions, duplicate-photo prevention, expiry reminders and an upgrade for iOS 27. The update also adds support for Google's SynthID watermarking to flag images generated or edited with generative tools in Photos and Image Playground.

• Shared Albums now let users edit captions on photos and videos
• A new safeguard blocks duplicate photos from being added to albums
• The app shows a reminder before an album expires
• SynthID marks images edited in Photos and Image Playground
