KAIST extends lifespan of anode-free EV batteries
Researchers at KAIST tackled dendrite growth in anode-free lithium batteries using semiconductor lithography: 300 nm-wide, 150 nm-tall microtubes on copper foil quadruple the lithium deposition area. A 10 nm MXene coating promotes a LiF-rich protective layer. The approach could enable smaller, lighter EV batteries with longer range.
