University of Turku 3D prints multiple metals in a single layer

The University of Turku in Finland has added a multi-material recoater to its Aconity MIDI+ metal 3D printer, depositing different powders from three drums within one layer. The AM4Plasma project will study parts for fusion energy and aerospace propulsion.

AM4Plasma is coordinated by the University of Turku with support from Business Finland
Target parts combine heat-resistant and heat-conducting regions near cooling channels
The system will also be used to train researchers in multi-metal additive manufacturing
