EU's GenAI4EU moves to execution with Nexus hub and public-sector pilots

The EU's GenAI4EU initiative is shifting from funding ambitions to named projects: the GenAI4EU Nexus hub (Horizon Europe, €2.999M grant, started 1 May 2026, 36 months) and three Digital Europe Programme pilots for public administrations — FLOODS & DROUGHTS, EUNOMIA.AI and EuropAI — which began on 1 July 2026. Total planned funding for GenAI4EU is around €700M, up from the originally announced €500M.
