European Commission adds €500m to Horizon Europe research funding

The European Commission has allocated an extra €500m to Horizon Europe, bringing the programme's total budget to roughly €14.8bn for 2026–2027. Two new cross-cutting calls were added: Bridging Actions 2027 with €260m for AI platforms and energy, and Nature-Positive Economy and Society with €237m.
