x402 audit: 69 of 2,695 checked paid API answers were wrong

Researchers paid 422 x402 endpoints across 355 hosts 3,618 times between August 31 and October 28, 2026. Of 2,695 answers that could be checked against an independent source, 69 (2.6%) were wrong, and every one was billed. Another 144 paid calls returned nothing usable.
