MCP Python SDK leaks credentials via cross-origin redirects

CVE-2026-116685 (CVSS 5.9) affects the MCP Python SDK versions 1.8.0–1.29.1 and 2.0.0–2.1.1: the HTTP client follows redirects to external origins and forwards custom auth headers such as X-API-Key, replaying POST bodies on 307/308 responses. Versions 1.30.0 and 2.2.0 restrict redirects to the original endpoint origin.
