KAIST unveils wireless chip tracking acetylcholine in living brains
A KAIST-led team under Professor Jang Kyung-in built a miniature wireless implant that continuously measures acetylcholine in the prefrontal cortex of minipigs after donepezil dosing. The results were published in Device on October 14, 2026.
- The chip streams neurotransmitter data from a living brain without cables
- An Ag@Pt nanowire and chitosan sensor cuts interference from other molecules
- The experiment tracked acetylcholine dynamics in minipigs after donepezil
- The study appeared in Device on October 14, 2026
