OpenAI claims Yang-Mills existence proof, reviewed by Nobel laureate Gross
OpenAI said its internal AI models produced three research results in mathematics, computer science and theoretical physics, including a proof of Yang-Mills existence. A five-person group led by Nobel laureate David Gross is reviewing the physics claim, whose materials remain unpublished and unverified.
- The proof covers existence only, not the mass gap required by the prize
- Physics materials are withheld by the review group, not public
- Math and CS results were posted to GitHub on October 25
- OpenAI says it will not claim the $1 million Clay prize
