Southchip SC3606 driver targets sub-1mm piezoelectric fans for phones

Southchip has launched the SC3606, a driver chip for piezoelectric fans thinner than 1mm aimed at smartphones. The 2.3×2.75×0.5mm FCQFN part takes 2.1–5.5V input, outputs up to 46Vpp and tracks resonance between 15kHz and 40kHz on its own.

• Piezo fan under 1mm thick, ~30dB noise, sub-1ms response
• SC3606: 2.1–5.5V input, up to 46Vpp output, 2–40kHz range
• Self-tracking resonance at 15–40kHz, no factory calibration
• FCQFN 2.3×2.75×0.5mm, 22 pins, 1.2V I2C interface
