OpenAI API deprecations: GPT-4o, GPT-5 and Whisper shutdown dates revealed

OpenAI published its API retirement schedule: GPT-5, o3 and their variants shut down on 11 December 2026, while GPT-4o, GPT-4.1 and their mini versions leave on 14 January 2027 with gpt-6-luna as the replacement. Whisper and GPT-4o transcription models retire on 26 February 2027, and GPT-5.1 follows on 1 April 2027.
