FluidCloud launches vHOP to migrate off VMware without VDDK
FluidCloud has launched vHOP, a service that copies VMware virtual machine disks with its own cloning engine, bypassing the VDDK library that has been unavailable for download since August. vHOP supports AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI and Nutanix, handles over 1,000 VMs per batch, and is available in the FluidCloud platform and on AWS Marketplace.
- vHOP bypasses VDDK by exporting disks via ESXi APIs and NFC
- FluidCloud claims 2x faster restore and image creation than VDDK
- Snapshots cut transferred data by about 5x
- Supports AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI and Nutanix, over 1,000 VMs per batch
