Perseverance sets interplanetary driving record on Mars

NASA's Perseverance rover passed 28.10 miles (45.22 kilometers) driven on Mars on Oct. 11, farther than anything has traveled on another world. The previous record was held by Opportunity, which took about 14 years to cover that distance; Perseverance did it in just over 5 years.
