Samsung's new 8nm 8LPU+ node could enable a cheaper Switch 2 Lite
Samsung will present its second-generation 8nm process 8LPU+ at IEDM 2026, promising 15% lower power and 8% smaller area. The Switch 2's T239 chip is already made on Samsung's current 8nm node, so the new process could support a cheaper, handheld-only Switch 2 Lite. Nintendo has not announced a new model.
