Shanghai sets satellite internet targets for 2030

Shanghai published a 2027–2030 satellite internet action plan calling for inter-satellite laser links above 400 Gbps, 100 Gbps per satellite and over 30 POPS of onboard AI compute. The city targets more than 3,000 satellites in orbit and network capacity above 150 Tbps by 2030.
