TSMC A14 Node to Break Eight Years of SRAM Scaling Stagnation
TSMC will shrink its 6T SRAM bitcell from 0.021 µm² to 0.017 µm² on the A14 node, a 19% reduction and the first gain since N5 in 2020. Pilot production is underway, with risk production set for 2027 and high-volume manufacturing in 2028.
- 6T SRAM density has stalled at about 0.021 µm² since N5 in 2020
- A14 cuts the bitcell to 0.017 µm², a 19% reduction
- Risk production starts in 2027, high-volume manufacturing in 2028
- Schedule could move up by months if yields hold
