JWST and ALMA spot dusty quasar in the early universe
A new study reports the dust-reddened quasar J1440+0019 at redshift 6.5488, from when the universe was under a billion years old. It hosts a rapidly accreting supermassive black hole of about 1.1 billion solar masses. The paper was posted to arXiv on Oct. 9.
