ALMA spots giant planet formation edge-on in Gomez's Hamburger

Astronomers using the ALMA array found the earliest phases of giant planet formation between dense layers of gas and dust in the Gomez's Hamburger system (GoHam). The object is seen edge-on, offering a rare view of the disk and envelope.
