Pat Gelsinger backs Nagare Labs' Z2RAM memory tech
Former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, now a partner at Playground Global, is backing Nagare Labs, a Georgia Tech spinout developing Z2RAM oxide-semiconductor memory. The tech promises SRAM-like speed at DRAM-like density with up to 5x the bit density of SRAM. Nagare has raised $5 million and aims to sample working tiles within four years.
- Z2RAM offers up to 5x SRAM bit density at comparable bandwidth
- Startup has raised $5 million in seed funding
- Working memory tiles targeted for sampling within four years
- Two-transistor cell stores charge without a capacitor, enabling non-destructive reads
