Warhound plans to genetically engineer dogs for combat and rescue
Colossal Biosciences and Anduril have launched Warhound, a project to genetically edit and cybernetically augment working dogs for the military, police and search-and-rescue teams. The first $200 million is already raised; dogs will start with resistance to cancer and hip dysplasia, with speed, scent and sensor-equipped armour possibly following. The first batch will be cloned and begin service in about two years.
