Users vibe-code TV interfaces to strip ads and tracking

Projects like Cleanyourtv, tv-detox and dumbtv gained traction on GitHub, using ADB and developer mode to remove ads and tracking from Android TV and Google TV without root. Users are also generating custom launchers with LLMs such as Claude Code.

• Projects target Android TV and Google TV via ADB, no root, reversible
• No equivalents exist for Tizen, webOS, Roku or SmartCast
• One user bricked a Samsung TV while vibe-hacking it with Claude
• Blocking trackers does not guarantee an end to data collection
