APC approves standards to speed up photonics manufacturing
The Advanced Photonics Coalition has approved a set of standards aimed at enabling high-volume manufacturing of optical networking components, including co-packaged optics and silicon photonics. The move comes as AI infrastructure hits the copper wall and key photonics supplies run short.
- Standards cover CPO, silicon photonics and 4-core multicore fiber
- Lumentum says its optical components are sold out through 2029
- Resolight pushes nanosecond optical circuit switching to cut conversions
- Nvidia demonstrated Spectrum X co-packaged optics at GTC
