Ultrafast light pulses track molecular motion at three-femtosecond resolution
An international team led by Politecnico di Milano observed a molecule in the first instants after it absorbed light, tracking the coordinated motion of electrons and nuclei with a temporal resolution of three femtoseconds. The group built a new apparatus for studying ultrafast photochemical processes.
- Temporal resolution reached three femtoseconds
- Researchers tracked coordinated electron and nuclei motion
- The apparatus targets ultrafast photochemical processes
